What is the best way to learn Mandarin in peace?

I'm learning Spanish as my second language, so do not have time to study Mandarin Chinese in school. I have no time for exchange programs either, because I'm focused on going to a Spanish speaking country. Any suggestions? Any recommendation of textbooks?

Good Mandarin is a very difficult language to learn, especially if you do it for yourself! That means you have to dedicate it to 100%. Think it is too busy with Spanish for all that dedicated to Mandarin. In any case, I always think penpals are the best way to really learn a language:) Rosetta Stone, also, to browse the best books, too, for beginners:)
